These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) regulate your use of the website https://writing-fox.co.uk (the “Platform”), together with all learning support, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, editing, and guidance services made available through it.
By accessing the Platform, communicating with our team, or otherwise using any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not accept these Terms, you should discontinue use of the Platform and refrain from purchasing any services.
Nothing contained in these Terms excludes or limits any statutory rights available to consumers under applicable legislation within the United Kingdom.
1. Platform Operator
Although the Platform is intended for users located in the United Kingdom, the business itself is not incorporated within the UK and does not maintain a registered office there. Prices may nevertheless be displayed in Pounds Sterling (GBP) for the convenience of UK customers.
The company operates an online platform that introduces learners to independent tutors and editors who provide legitimate learning support services.
Nothing on the Platform should be interpreted as representing that the Platform is incorporated under the Companies Act 2006 or otherwise established as a UK company.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:

User, Client, Customer, you, or your refers to any person who visits the Platform, requests information, or purchases our services.
Tutor means an independent contractor, mentor, coach, editor, or specialist providing learning support through the Platform.
Services include tutoring, mentoring, guidance, proofreading, feedback, editing, coaching, skills development, and other lawful learning support described on the Platform.
3. Scope of Services
3.1 Personalised Tutoring
Tutors may provide one-to-one tutoring in a variety of subjects, helping Users understand concepts, strengthen knowledge, prepare for assessments, and improve confidence in their studies.
3.2 Learning Guidance
Tutors may assist Users in developing effective study strategies, organising work, improving revision techniques, setting learning goals, and strengthening subject knowledge. Guidance is tailored to the User’s individual learning needs wherever reasonably possible.
3.3 Study Planning Support
Tutors may help Users analyse marking criteria, develop research plans, organise ideas, and understand complex concepts. Support is limited to learning guidance that enables Users to complete their own work independently.
3.4 Skills Development
The Platform offers support intended to improve transferable skills, including critical thinking, analytical reasoning, time management, research methods, note-taking, referencing techniques, planning, and effective study habits.
3.5 Feedback and Review
Tutors may provide constructive comments on Users’s work, highlighting areas requiring improvement while explaining the reasons for suggested changes. Feedback may address organisation, coherence, grammar, clarity, structure, argument development, and style.
3.6 Editing and Proofreading
Where requested, editors may review documents prepared by Users to improve spelling, punctuation, grammar, readability, consistency, and language quality. Editing services are intended solely to enhance the presentation of user-created work while preserving the original meaning and individual style.
4. Integrity and Acceptable Use
The Platform is committed to supporting ethical learning practices and promoting integrity principles. Users agree to use all Services responsibly and in accordance with the rules, policies, and regulations of their institution. Users must not present tutor-generated content as entirely their own work or misuse learning guidance in breach of institutional rules. Services are provided solely to support learning, tutoring, mentoring, proofreading, editing, study skills, and constructive feedback. Users remain responsible for ensuring that their use of the Services complies with all applicable institutional policies and legal requirements.
5. Eligibility
Users must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to enter into a contract independently through the Platform. Individuals under the age of eighteen may only use the Services with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By placing the request, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete, you have legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, you are authorised to use the selected payment method, your use of the Platform complies with applicable laws. The Platform reserves the right to refuse or terminate Services where false information has been provided or where continued provision of the Services would be unlawful.
6. Pricing and Payment
6.1 Pricing Information
All fees payable for the Services are displayed before the User confirms the Service request. Where appropriate, prices are presented in Pounds Sterling (GBP) for the convenience of customers located in the United Kingdom. The total amount payable, including any applicable charges, will be shown before payment is authorised. The Platform seeks to ensure transparent pricing and does not apply hidden fees.
6.2 Pricing Factors
The cost of Services may vary according to several factors, including the subject area, the level of study, the type of support requested, the complexity of the learning requirements, the requested timeframe, and any agreed revision or follow-up support. Prices displayed on the Platform may be updated periodically. However, changes will not affect the requests that have already been accepted.
6.3 Payment Terms
Payment must be completed before Services commence. The Platform may accept payments using a range of secure payment methods, including debit cards, credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and any additional payment methods displayed during checkout. Payment transactions are processed through independent payment service providers. The company does not store complete payment card information on its own systems.
6.4 Currency Conversion
Where payments are made in a currency other than GBP, exchange rates and conversion charges applied by banks or payment providers remain the responsibility of the User.
7. Consumer Cancellation Rights
Where a User qualifies as a consumer under UK law, cancellation rights may apply in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Subject to applicable legislation, consumers generally have the right to cancel a service contract within fourteen (14) days from the date on which the contract is formed. Where the User expressly requests immediate commencement of the Services before the cancellation period expires, the User acknowledges that:
- work may begin immediately;
- payment may be due for Services already supplied before cancellation; and
- the statutory cancellation right may end once the Services have been fully completed with the User’s prior consent.
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Delivery of Services
Learning support may be provided through one or more of the following methods online tutoring sessions, email correspondence, secure messaging platforms, document review systems, video conferencing, voice calls, collaborative online learning tools.
Delivery schedules depend upon factors including Tutor availability, the agreed timetable, the complexity of the requested support, and the completeness of information supplied by the User.
Where delays arise for reasons beyond the Platform’s reasonable control, reasonable efforts will be made to inform the User promptly and agree an alternative arrangement where appropriate.
9. Completion of Services
A Service will generally be regarded as completed when one of the following occurs: the learning guidance has been delivered, the requested review or feedback has been provided, or the agreed editing or proofreading has been completed. Following completion, the Platform may retain records relating to the Service in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable legal obligations.
10. Refund Policy
The company aims to resolve refund requests fairly while protecting both Users and Tutors from misuse of the Platform.
10.1 Circumstances Where Refunds May Be Considered
Refund requests may be reviewed where no suitable Tutor could be assigned, duplicate payments were processed, Services materially differed from the confirmed request, an agreed timeframe was missed due solely to the Platform’s actions, technical failures prevented delivery of the agreed Services. Each request is assessed individually, taking into account the facts and supporting evidence provided.
10.2 Requesting a Refund
Users should submit refund requests within seven (7) days of Service completion.
Requests should include the request reference, a clear explanation of the issue, any supporting documentation that may assist the investigation. Additional information may be requested before a decision is reached.
10.3 Circumstances Where Refunds Will Normally Not Be Available
Refunds will generally not be granted where Services were delivered substantially in accordance with the agreed instructions, dissatisfaction relates solely to outcomes outside the Platform’s control, delays resulted from incomplete information or late responses provided by the User, or the User changed their requirements after work had commenced.
10.4 Partial Refunds
Where only part of the agreed Service has been delivered, the Platform may, where appropriate, issue a partial refund reflecting the work already completed, time reasonably spent by the Tutor, administrative costs incurred.
10.5 Processing Approved Refunds
Approved refunds will normally be returned using the original payment method within approximately five to ten (5–10) business days, although processing times may vary depending on financial institutions and payment providers.
10.6 Fraud Prevention
The Platform reserves the right to refuse refund requests where there is reasonable evidence of fraudulent activity, repeated abuse of refund procedures, deliberately misleading claims, attempts to obtain Services without payment.
Nothing contained within this Refund Policy limits statutory consumer rights available under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK legislation.
11. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, all intellectual property rights relating to materials supplied through the Platform remain the property of the Company, the relevant Tutor, or the applicable rights holder.
This includes, without limitation, learning resources, feedback reports, teaching materials, explanatory notes, or editing comments. Users receive a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use these materials solely for their own personal learning purposes.
Users must not reproduce materials for commercial purposes, distribute them to third parties, sell, sublicense, or publish them, and remove copyright notices or other proprietary markings.
12. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion would be unlawful. Subject to the above, the total liability of the Company arising from any individual Service request shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the User for that particular Service. The Platform shall not be responsible for study, business, professional outcomes or any other consequences arising from the User’s independent use of guidance provided through the Platform.
13. Data Protection and Privacy
The Company processes personal information in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, where those laws apply to the processing activities undertaken by the Platform.
The Platform acts as the data controller in relation to personal data collected directly from Users when they access the website, communicate with customer support, or purchase Services. Personal information may be processed for purposes including providing Services, matching Users with appropriate Tutors, processing payments, responding to enquiries, preventing fraud and abuse, and improving the quality, security, and functionality of the Platform.
The Platform takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information against unauthorised access, accidental loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
Individuals who believe their personal information has been processed unlawfully may submit a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or another competent supervisory authority where appropriate.

14. Marketing Communications
The Platform sends marketing communications only where permitted by applicable legislation, including the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR) and, where applicable, the UK GDPR.
Where consent is required, promotional emails, newsletters, and similar communications will only be sent after appropriate permission has been obtained. Users may withdraw consent or unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by selecting the unsubscribe option included within marketing emails or contacting the Platform using the published support details. Withdrawal of marketing consent will not affect communications necessary for the provision of contracted Services.
15. Complaints Procedure
The Company is committed to providing learning support and guidance Services to a high professional standard and aims to resolve concerns fairly, promptly, and transparently. Users who are dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services should contact the customer support team as soon as reasonably possible.
To assist with the investigation, complaints should include the relevant request reference or transaction details, a clear description of the issue, and copies of any supporting documents or correspondence. The Platform will acknowledge complaints within a reasonable period and will make reasonable efforts to investigate the matter objectively.
16. Alternative Dispute Resolution
Where a complaint cannot be resolved through the Platform’s internal complaints procedure, eligible consumers may have the option of seeking assistance through an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) body where such a scheme is available and appropriate.
Information regarding ADR services may be obtained from relevant UK consumer advice organisations or competent regulatory authorities.
Unless required by applicable law, participation in ADR by the Company is voluntary.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in another part of the United Kingdom provide additional rights that cannot legally be excluded. Where permitted by law, disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall fall within the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer ordinarily resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also have the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your own jurisdiction, as provided by applicable consumer protection legislation.
Nothing contained in these Terms restricts or removes any mandatory legal rights available to consumers under UK law.
18. Amendments to These Terms
The Company may amend these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, business operations, technology, security measures, and the Services offered through the Platform.
The latest version of these Terms will always be published on the Platform together with the revised effective date. Material changes affecting Users’ rights or obligations will take effect only after being published on the Platform or otherwise communicated where legally required.
Continued use of the Platform following the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised version.
